About Me

Thank you for checking out my website! I wanted to have a bit more information about me without taking the focus away from the work I’m doing & the processes I’m learning.

To begin, I was fortunate to have a great band teacher from 5th grade all the way until I graduated high school in 2017. I am very fortunate to have been part of a program with the same teacher the entire time, as I understand that is quite rare. If it was not for Mr. Bishop, I would not be the person, let alone musician, I am today.

I went to school at Saginaw Valley State University in Saginaw, Michigan, where I spent 4 years working through the music education program. My passion for teaching is what fueled me, but I ultimately faltered upon the completion of my 4th year juries. There were many factors that went into this, but ultimately I decided to take a year off to realign my core values & what I wanted to get out of life.

The largest reason I wanted to become a teacher was: To inspire & make a difference in young musician’s life.

While attending my 3rd year in the music ed program, it was brought to my attention that Band Instrument Repair was a career option. I felt compelled to continue with my music education, despite the poor outlook.

I asked to shadow a few of the folks at my local music store. Nothing paid, just something to give me an idea for the field. I was very fortunate with my area, as the techs there were extremely interested in helping me achieve this new goal. (Thank you Herter’s Music Center)
